AKEN at AEA2013

AEA 2013 was vibrant and full! It is always a delight to meet others working in the field, and this year ourState of Evaluation in Alaska panel brought together folks interested in Alaska. I met several students from Alaska now studying evaluation outside and a few evaluators working locally who hadn’t yet encountered our group. I hope those fleeting conference hellos will turn into bigger conversations, over time.

The panel itself was great – we had interested attendees, engaging speakers, and lots of time for questions and answers. Alda Norris spoke about evaluation in Cooperative Extension in Alaska, giving three examples of programs she works with. Wendi Kannenberg spoke about capacity building in Alaska Native organizations, and Susan Tucker, Ed McLain, and Lexi Hill talked about the development of our recent membership survey and shared some findings (some of you may remember a version of the data tables from Lexi’s August program).

What should we add to the conversation, as we prepare to represent AKEN at AEA 2014 (in Denver) next year?
